Bayswater Bodycount (Mask Noir)
Published in Paperback by Serpent's Tail (December, 1995)
Author: Graeme Gordon
Average review score:

One of a Kind, I hope.
If anything, _Bayswater Bodycount_ is a good piece of shlock filth. Mr Gordon successfully sets up a series of rather intriguing premises, which he devalues with a smarmy and racist portrait of contemporary London....

Who should read this book? Only those who couldn't find anything more interesting (a computer manual?) in the discount bin at the bookshop. I grieve for such an inexcusable waste of paper and my time.

Messy Fun
This altogether tongue-in-cheek page turner set in the slimier side of the London underworld starts off with the murder of a Jewish teenager by a pair of Arab kids. Of course the kid is the son of a powerful Jewish businessman/mobster type who, for some reason, employs a squad of somewhat inept midgets to carry out his dirty work. There's a beautiful Arab blues singer, plenty of drugs, some offhanded killing, and a predictably happy ending.

one of the most original books I've ever read
Midget punks, torture, stripshows and cold blooded murder. A completely original and thrilling book.
